Dr. Chenik was born and raised on a farm in Iowa and is a disabled Vietnam vetran. At age 40, he went to medical school in Iowa and has been practicing psychiatry since 1994. I completed my residency at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, CA where he was the Chief Resident. During his residency, he studdied addiction under Jeffery N. Wilkins, MD. DFAPA, DFASAM, who is the recipient of the Lincy/Heyward – Moynihan Endowed Inaguaral Chair in Addiction Medicine.
